Arthropod vectors of diseases
Many species of insects transmit diseases among humans and in animals, while some species are blood suckers that cause pain, irritation and allergies. Some of the arthropod borne diseases reach epidemic proportions, in which situation vector control becomes as important as the disease itself. Detail studies of biology, seasonal history and transmission capacities of these vectors are very important for devising effective control strategies. The following vectors are described.
